I'd have to say that I'm not sure the quality of the entire album is up to the standard of the previously posted lead-off track, "Different Kind Of Flower," but it's still a very enjoyable album. And again, more like what I love from Ray Price than anything he had done for more than 10 years at the point the album was released. He remakes some of his old hits, which are mostly enjoyable, but never top the originals. And his cover of Bob Dylan's "I'll Be Your Baby Tonight" is a nice bid to have some modern touches, but as much as I love Ray Price, this is one of my least favorite interpretations by him. In fact, it actually borders on being downright creepy. I don't know about you ladies out there, but I'm guessing that smirking, leering vocal isn't winning over anybody I'd want to spend the night with...
But with all those caveats, I still think this is an enjoyable album, and I hope you all enjoy it too...

Thanx, even if it is only half as good as "Different kind of flower" I think I'll still enjoy this.
I like this album a lot. I checked the studio recordings I have against these and I agree they are better.
However, Ray price certainly doesn't come off as a "fading star," and in my opinion doesn't sound dated.
The repertoire is excellent. "Different Kind of Flower is such a gem of a story song... a beautiful piece of romantic poetry. It might even have a life lesson in it too.
I loved Jesse Coulter's version of "Storms Never Last," but it's good to see how well the song can work for guys too.
One would expect to hear steel guitar and fiddles with Ray Price, but I also enjoyed the frequent use of acoustic guitar for both background licks and solos on this album.
I also enjoyed his fiddle shufflin'/honky-tonkin' piano version of "Don't Let The Stars Get In Your Eyes."
"You Done Me Wrong" is a great song (certainly better than its title). This is good, but I gotta admit the studio version has higher octane.
There's lots of good stuff here; it's well worth the price of admission!

I agree with Don. I really like this record. The only song I don't like is the Dylan cover. Ray is in wonderful voice. There's some really nice guitar and fiddle going on. Thank you!
